COLUMBUS, Ohio – National Church Residences’ commitment to quality service coordination was recognized with a three-year Accreditation of Case Management for Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The leader in health care accreditation, NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. It accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. NCQA also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. The LTSS accreditation was launched in July 2016 for organizations performing service coordination functions for these populations. National Church Residences is the only Ohio organization with such accreditation, and one of 70 nationwide.
In order to be considered for the NCQA accreditation, the National Church Residences Central Ohio Home Health and Wellness operation participated in rigorous onsite surveys, as well as reviews of records, standards and processes.
Earning this Accreditation demonstrates that National Church Residences is a trusted partner in coordinating LTSS services with a focus on person-centered care planning and monitoring that will help drive efficiencies in contract and service delivery.
“We are proud to announce the NCQA Accreditation, as an acknowledgement of the quality of our person-centered LTSS care delivery,” said Corporate Director of Senior Care Management, Jerrie O’Rourke of National Church Residences. “There is a growing need for home- and community-based LTSS care, and the accreditation helps to demonstrate National Church Residences’ value as a trusted partner.”
LTSS can be described as the services and supports needed by seniors and other individuals with limitations and chronic illnesses who require help with routine daily activities like bathing, dressing, preparing meals and managing medications.
“Our LTSS clients benefit in many ways from this accreditation’s quality measurement,” added O’Rourke.
As National Church Residences’ first NCQA accreditation, this rating reflects a nationally endorsed quality framework for managing the needs of complex populations like LTSS senior residents and clients. NCQA assessment ensures structured processes and supports National Church Residences in establishing contracts with health plans and other health care organizations to benefit the seniors that the organization serves.
