COLUMBUS, Ohio – National Church Residences is the recipient of two, 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Awards from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). These awards mark a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing commitment to providing affordable housing solutions for older adults and individuals in need of supportive services. Being granted LIHTC awards from OHFA signifies a crucial step forward for National Church Residences, as it provides essential financial support to create and maintain affordable housing options for communities in need.

Divinity Landing, will be developed in Macedonia, Ohio, with 54-units of affordable senior housing. Nestled near the intersection of Valley View Road and State Route 8, this community will offer convenient access to essential amenities, including grocery stores, medical facilities and entertainment options.

Divinity Landing will boast an array of resident amenities, including a spacious community room with a warming kitchen, an exercise center, a multipurpose room and onsite property management. The three-story, elevator building will feature one-bedroom apartments and sit on a 4.5-acre property with access to onsite walking paths and an outdoor patio adjacent to the community room.

The Commons at Grant, an existing 100-unit permanent supportive housing community located at 398 South Grant Avenue in Columbus, Ohio, was initially constructed in 2002 through the 9% LIHTC program. This community serves as a beacon of compassion, providing high-quality, affordable housing and vital support services to the formerly homeless, veterans and disabled individuals. All of the apartments are semi-furnished and residents are provided support programming and services to help them build self-sufficiency. The planned renovation will include much-needed upgrades to apartments and common areas, as well as essential repairs such as a new roof and windows.

Vice President of Affordable Housing development, Amy Rosenthal remarked, “We are thrilled to receive the 9% LIHTC Awards for Divinity Landing and the Commons at Grant. These developments exemplify our dedication to providing high-quality, affordable housing options for seniors and individuals in need of supportive services.”

Construction on Divinity Landing and renovations at the Commons at Grant are slated to begin as early as spring 2025. National Church Residences extends its sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of these communities, including staff members, consultants and partner organizations. Their dedication and support have been instrumental throughout the application process.
