COLUMBUS, Ohio – Robert S. Walter, CPA, has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of National Church Residences, effective May 1, 2021. Walter will succeed Tanya Hahn, who will remain with the organization in a new role.
“Robert’s addition to our leadership team adds strategic planning, operational reporting and accounting expertise to our organization,” said National Church Residences’ President and CEO, Mark Ricketts. “Robert has led organizations through remarkable growth both organic and through affiliations and acquisitions. This experience will be essential to our mission to serve the continued, unprecedented demand for senior communities and senior services across the nation.”
Prior to joining National Church Residences, Walter served as CFO at EWI for five years, where he served as chief financial spokesperson and shaped the organization’s strategic and tactical approaches to operations, business strategy, capital funding and resource management. His career also includes 15 years at Scotts Miracle-Gro and five years with Deloitte and Touche.
Walter also served on the National Church Residences’ board of directors from 2010 to 2019 as a member of the finance and audit committee and as prior chairman of the investment committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University and brings more than 25 years of experiential leadership in the finance industry.
Former CFO Hahn, who has been nationally recognized for creating innovative capital funding solutions, will continue with National Church Residences as a senior advisor.
“Tanya’s wisdom and practicality have ensured our organization’s fiscal strength and will be recognized for many years,” said Ricketts. “Because of Tanya and her team, we have been able to navigate uncertain times and emerge stronger every year.”
