Cabot Rea, who retired as a news anchor for NBC 4 WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, is performing from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 30, at Bristol Village’s John R. Glenn Activity Center in Waverly, Ohio. Since his retirement, after 30 years in television news, Rea has been active in music, his first career.
Rea, who has a degree in music education from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, was a professional singer and actor. He also taught music in Newark, Ohio, before he joined NBC 4 WCMH-TV as a sports and feature reporter in 1985.
He will sing and tell stories of his years at NBC 4 during the Enrichment Hour at the Glenn Center, located at 625 East 5th Street in Waverly. Bristol Village resident Joy Renner, who is a friend of Rea’s, will accompany him on piano. The event is open to the public.
