Every National Church Residences community has them – volunteers to help out in the office, visit with seniors, organize workshops, teach classes, develop monthly newsletters, perform live music for residents and much more. They are always lending a helping hand and supporting our mission through the selfless act of volunteerism.
For the past six years, the organization has recognized these volunteers on the national level. This year, we are excited to announce Huntington National Bank is the 2018 Corporate Volunteer of the Year winner.
Since 2003, Huntington has provided financial education for our permanent supportive housing communities. Annually, they host a Veterans Day event with more than 60 Huntington colleagues serving dinner to 500 residents. In addition, they host game nights and dinners throughout the year and recently they created and implemented a computer training curriculum.
“We want to thank the volunteers from Huntington for supporting our communities in Columbus, Toledo, Akron and Pittsburgh,” said National Church Residences President & CEO Mark Ricketts. “They’ve demonstrated what it means to be a true partner as their reach continues to extend to more areas of our business.”
The volunteers from Huntington are vital in helping us meet the goals of our mission on many of our campuses.
“We are proud to partner with National Church Residences and to support their efforts to provide affordable, safe housing to our friends and neighbors,” said Christina Brown from Huntington’s community development office. “At Huntington, our purpose is to make lives better and we’re honored to give our best to the community by sharing our resources and time.”
National Church Residences has 2,623 registered volunteers contributing in communities across the country. These volunteers serve in housing and senior living, hospice and permanent supportive housing, as well as at our Centers for Senior Health and residential communities.
